Still Life with Lemons
It’s not often that I create a black and white artwork, but this one was calling to me. There is something luscious about painting with acrylic on watercolour paper and then adding texture with pastels, especially when painting lemons. I loved painting the chinoiserie style vase with it’s intricate detail. I saw this vase with gorgeous luscious lemons in it while I was singing at a gig in Mittagong, in the Southern Highlands of NSW and quickly snapped a shot before we started playing.
This artwork was a finalist in Hunters Hill Art Prize in 2018.

I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the progression of ‘Still Life with Lemons’ from beginning sketch to the finished original. Artworks certainly take on a life of their own. I will probably never meet the owner of the original painting, as the selling process at the exhibition is quite discreet, but I do hope that it is bringing them lots of joy.
There are only 10 Limited Edition Prints of this artwork available. If you would like to own a personally signed high quality Giclee Fine Art Reproduction of this print you can click on the link below.
Have a beautiful day,
Sancha xo
